1962 Pontiac Catalina Safari Description:

You may have have seen this car for sale earlier this year...I bought it back in May. The only reason I'm selling is because I have an opportunity to pull a car out of a field that I've had my eye on for about 4 years or else I wouldn't even think about selling the wagon :)

When I bought it...it didn't run great. It flooded itself and had a horrible miss. In my ownership I have:

-Done a full tune up (Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, points)

-Rebuilt and cleaned the carb, the car runs like new ever since this

-New alternator

-Rear shocks were noisy..fixed that with new bushings

-Refinished the dash trim in white fur to match headliner

-Redid tailgate cover from cheapy particle board to something sturdier and plaid

-Driven it almost every day!

Original drivetrain: 389, slim jim (or rotohydramatic) tranny. It's a different kind of tranny...it got some invisible shift points so it weird some people out but it does shift how it's supposed to! No slips or anything. All the old timers say thats just how the slim jims are...kind of like the Buick dynaflows...

I have some original parts like the grill, hub caps and all flat pieces to lay over the seats if you want to lay them all down. I'm 5'9" and can lay down in the back with plenty of room to spare if all seats are down.

The good:

-Super bright

-White fur everywhere...I have some extra, too

-Runs like a spotted ass ape.

-Starts right away, every time

-Heat will burn you out of the car

-Factory roof rack..have used it a number of times

-Charges at 14 volts, over 35+ oil pressure all the time, runs at 190 or cooler no matter the outside temp

-Very clean pinstriping

-Kustom touches like 59 Impala steering wheel, door knob grill

-Tinted windows

-Still runs like a spotted ass ape

-Rear facing seat

-Coil springs on all 4 corners which makes this a perfect candidate for air ride!

The bad:

-A little rust on the bottom the frame..but no structural issues. There's no weird flexing or anything of that nature even if you park on really unlevel surface.

-Wipers work..but don't like to shut off if you turn them on

-Leaks a little oil...not enough for me to have to worry about refilling it though

-Not the best paint and body. Most of it's fine, someone glued on quarters. I'm not sure why...I saw old pics when it was in primer and they looked fine then! No rust coming through...most people wouldn't notice so. A couple dings here and there, but it's a driver

-The rear doors are shaved well but they didn't add poppers so you either reach in and open it from the front or leave the rear window down. Poppers are cheap, though

She's ready to haul a family around and that's who I'd like to see her go to...it's a lot of room for a single dude like me. Will sell to anyone with cash monies, though.

If you have questions don't hesitate to call or text 308 390 8915. Will gladly coordinate with shipper if necessary or come drive her home. Cash talks

*Will end listing if it sells local*

Thanks!
