1962 Plymouth Fury Sport Fury Description:
For sale is a 1962 Plymouth Sport Fury Coupe. This is not your ordinary Sport Fury. Originally equipped with a carbureted V8 engine, this Sport Fury has been swapped with a modern Chrysler 5.7L fuel-injected HEMI V8 engine, which is still mated to the original dashboard-mounted push-button automatic transmission and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD). This upgrade includes a trunk-mounted fuel cell and PCM (computer module). This Sport Fury features a Cream exterior, which is in good condition with only two small rust bubbles on the driver's side, and all original emblems in their correct places (including 'HEMI Powered' emblems on both front fenders to signify the engine swap). This Sport Fury rides on period-correct body-colored steel Chrysler rally wheels with 'Plymouth Division' billet hubcaps, and the tires have a good amount of tread left on them. The undercarriage is clean, and the mufflers both appear to be newer. A Duralast battery and the aforementioned fuel cell are mounted in the trunk, and the vinyl "Checkered" trunk liner is still in place. The interior of this Sport Fury is in very good condition, with new door panels having just been installed by the previous owner. The interior also includes a set of Plymouth floor mats protecting the carpeted flooring, and the headliner has been removed. The cloth front and rear seats are from a Dodge Caliber. The odometer reads 9,088 miles, although this vehicle is being sold as True Mileage Unknown (TMU) due to both having a five-digit odometer, and the 5.7L HEMI conversion. There is a set of additional gauges mounted in the dashboard, as pictured. There are no radio or speakers currently installed in the vehicle, though the radio antenna is still mounted in the trunk of the vehicle, so an audio system can be installed, if desired. Switches are mounted in the center console to engage the fuel pump and starter. Manuals, books, and receipts relating to the 5.7L HEMI conversion are included with the car.
