First i want to say this is actually a 1949 "first series". They continued making the 46-48 plymouth into the 1949 model year. What most consider a 1949 is a" second series 49". I have it listed as a 48 so it can be found by those looking for a 46-48 Plymouths.
Now.. For sale is my Beautiful 1949 First Series Plymouth Special Deluxe Club Coupe.It has a beautiful paint job that is Mercedes Benz Mystic Blue. It really pops in the sunlight and is highly reflective, smooth, and shiny. There are a few small marks because it is a driver. But nothing thats a big eye sore. It still shows Very well. Its ready for the shows and cruise ins. All of the trim is original except the tail light bezels i changed for a nice re chromed set of factory bezels. I still have the originals.The interior was also completely redone and looks great! All interior lights and gauges work. As do the exterior lights..brake..and original horns. The factory radio also lights up an works. Its still equiped with the original heater that works well.
Under the beautiful paint and interior is the original 1949 Plymouth. Its original right down to the wiring. Its a 6v car. It has no battery issue or power draining issues. It will stay charged. I keep it on a tender though to keep the Red top 6v optima battery at its best.It has its original motor..original carb..original oil bath and original fuel and oil filter housings. The head gasket was replaced, clutch replaced..and regular maintenance besides that. The tires are excellent with only 1,500 to 2,000 miles on them.Its a 3.6 l l6 flathead plymouth. It starts right up and runs and drives good. The trans is a 3 speed column shift manual. "3 on the tree". New clutch and shifts great. If you never had a 3 on the tree, its as easy or easier than a floor shift car.
Its a beautiful Plymouth Coupe you would be proud to own! No disapointment here! Nice example of a 46-49 first series plymouth.
