1967 Plymouth GTX Description:

Plymouth took an aggressive approach to mid-size hi-performance in 1967 with the creation of the Belvedere GTX. They built 12,500 GTXs that year and this one is by far one of the finer remaining examples that you will find still tearing up the road.

This GTX was my dad's.It underwent a complete restoration in 2002 in Carson City, NV. The car was garage kept and used for cruising and car shows only thereafter. After my dad's passing, I took possession of the car in 2016, with only 5,700 miles. Aesthetically, the GTX was still striking with the beautiful paint and interior. However, I felt the drive train was lacking. I contacted Submission Engines in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and we got busy.

The drive train is ALL NEW with only 800 miles currently. It has the original 440 block with the correct date code stamp and original forged crank.(Chrysler did not sequence the blocks, transmissions or rear axle housings until 1969. Date codes are one of the things to use to verify "numbers matching" on 1968 and earlier.)Then I added aluminum rods and pistons, Edelbrock aluminum heads with Roller rockers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake and a Holley XP aluminum carburetor. It has a Comp hydraulic cam for low maintenance, an aluminum water pump and an aluminum radiator. It has TTI 2" coated long tube headers and a TTI 3" exhaust system with H-pipe to the rear bumper. It hit 522 H.P. on the dyno with 563 lbs. of torque.

The 727 Torqueflite has a 3,000 stall, a normal pattern manual valve body, Hemi 4-gear planetary, a bolt-in-sprag and heavy-duty clutches and bands. Just a nice solid shifting transmission.

The drive shaft has new heavy-duty U-joints and was balanced.

The 8 3/4 Suregrip posi has new bearings with 3:55 gears. The rear end is hung on a Cal-trac single-leaf suspension setup with adjustable traction bars and NEW 9-way adjustable Calvert shocks. It has NEW 11" CHP drum brakes.

The front end has ALL NEW ball joints, new spindals, ALL NEW disc brakes and NEW Calvert 90/10 shocks.

The car has ALL NEW tires. The restored car now has 6,500+ miles on it. If you are looking for a low-maintenance, beautiful hi-performance Mopar, just inquire. Here's a link to a brief video tour of the GTX:https://youtu.be/UTO2df8RDAQ Plus, more pics are available UPON REQUEST.

This car was my dad's dream. I never intended on parting with it.However, with retirement approaching and plans to do a lot of traveling; I would like to see the car go to someone who will enjoy it as much as my father did.
