1951 Plymouth Savoy Custom, Street Rod, Hot Rod Description:

• Car was built in California by Boyd Coddington in 1996.
• Steve Stanford (design) and Pete Santini (paint) collaborated on the build and confirm the Boyd build.
• Car was purchased by Ed Schartman in 2000. "Fast Eddie Schartman" drag racing hall of fame.
• Schartman installed the 426 Hemi at his dealership "Great Northern Dodge" and used it as a show car.
• Engine is a Ray Barton Super Stock build, "de-tuned" for street use.
• We purchased the car from Ed in the fall of 2005.
• We modified various systems on the car in 2007/8 to make it more reliable for street cruising vs. "trailer to show".
• Car is driven in cruises and to local shows and club events.

• All exterior moldings, nameplates, badges, antenna, door handles removed
• Aero mirrors, H4 motorcycle headlamps, flush-fit Hagen's fuel filler.
• Trim on car is airbrushed separating Mint Green and Cream two-tone paint.
• Modified and smoothed firewall, custom inner fender panels with air exhaust, custom radiator support
• Styled, engine-mounted "airbox" hiding K&N X-stream air filter system

• Competition style dash with Autometer gauges and center-mounted rocker switches
• Flaming River tilt column with "Boyd's" steering wheel, billet gas and brake pedals
• Center console with audio head unit, heater controls, armrest storage and Lokar shifter
• Recaro front buckets with matching folding rear seat, door trim and quarter trim panels
• Multi-speaker sound system with remote 6 Disc Changer
• NOS Tank is second air suspension reservoir

• 426 Hemi internals include 10.5 pistons, Jesel belt drive, mild roller cam, Stage V rocker system

• Custom aluminum radiator with full shroud and dual thermostatic cooling fans

• Plymouth frame modified to accept Mustang II front end
• 2" dropped spindles, power rack & pinion steering, power disc front/drum rear brakes
• AirRide Technologies "Shockwave" front with lower "A" arms and "air over leaf" spring rear
• Custom aluminum baffled 18.5 gallon fuel tank with safety foam and Holley electric pump
• Full 3" exhaust with "X" crossover and electric sliding cutouts
• American torque-thrust mags - 17x7 front and 18x10 rear with BFG Comp TA tires
