1948 Plymouth P15 Special Deluxe Description:

1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe. I've owned this car for quite a few years. It was barn find from NC. Supposedly the 34K miles are original, but cannot verify for sure. I purchased the car from the 2nd owner who retired it in the mid-90's. When I pick the car up, it still had the original interior that was in relatively decent shape, so the stories may be correct. It is all stock with the 6 volt charging system. It starts, runs and drives, but is still what I'd consider a project. It does have a clean FL title and is currently registered. The floors and trunk metal has been replaced. All new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes. New gas tank, sending unit, fuel pump, and fuel lines. New spark plugs and wires, regulator, and coil. New muffler and tailpipe. The interior has new door panels and seat covers. It was painted with satin black acrylic a few years ago. It's no show winning paint job, but it is a cool look for a cruiser. Tires are great.
What it still needs to a daily driver - brakes need bled better. They pump up and hold pressure with no leaks, but are soft on that initial push. The wiring is mostly original although someone started replacing. I've continued their work, but still needs completed. Right now the headlights and taillights work, but not much else. I have a new aftermarket turn signal kit, but have not installed. It needs weatherstripping and has a small crack in one of the side windows. The driver's side windshield is a little foggy in the bottom corner. The hood latched great before I removed it, now I cant get it to fully latch (nothing broke, just needs alignment). The radiator has a small leak that drips while the car is running. It has also developed a pretty good oil leak around the external oil filter. Due to this, it will need to be trailered to its new home. On the brightside, the oil pressure is great! As for the interior, it could really use new carpet. The existing stuff is pretty dry rotted. It also needs a headliner installed. All the rods are there and I have a fabric headliner that goes with the car. I have not gotten the car to the point where I'm comfortable driving it more than just around the block, so I do not know how it would handle at highway speeds. I would like to hold on to this car and get it road worthy, but since moving, I just don't have room for it. I went from having a 3 bay garage/shop to a house with a garage barely big enough for a lawn mower. I hate to see it sitting outside and just don't have time to mess with it, nor do I have any buddies to help on the two person jobs now. This is the perfect car for someone who wants an antique car, but doesn't have a huge budget. At this point, it just needs someone who has the time to finish tinkering with it. I tried to be as honest as possible so there are no post purchase surprises, but please feel free to reach out with any questions. Good luck bidding!
