1939 Packard Model 1701 Description:

I am listing this for a friend of mine. This is what I know about the car.... The car has been sitting in the garage for years. I drained the bad gas, pulled the plugs and turned over engine until had oil pressure. The car fired right up, no smoke and no engine noise. The generator was just rebuilt and there is a new voltage regulator and battery. The Manual transmission works great and clutch is tight. The brakes have been redone with new rubber lines. The engine and transmission are really clean, I would guess that they have been rebuilt at sometime. The gauges work and the oil pressure is at 30 psi. The headlights and taillights work, but the radio only lights up. The body was repainted at Able Body shop of Kalispell Montanaand is in really good shape. There is one small dent and small scratch in the hood by a headlight. There is one small dent in the right rear fender. There is no rust in this car that I can find and the underside is undercoated. The fenders and doors were painted off the car then installed. The interior seems to be original and in very good shape for the year. The front seat has been repaired and there is a small tear on drivers side. The chrome on the car has been redone and seems to be in great shape. I took the car for ashort drive after getting it running and it is very smooth. The carb needs some adjusting it does not idle super smooth, but after you get going it runs great.
