1949 Packard Packard Super Eight Description:
Thats Right! No Reserve on this fantastic 1949 Packard.
Sadly, Hemingway never owned this car but it did spend the last 30 years parked in the famous authors garage. I recently acquired this car from the second owners widow. He purchased the car in 1988 from Volo Auto Museum. Prior to his purchase the car received an exterior paint and all the chrome was restored. Overall she is in very good cosmetic condition. The chrome is pitting in several areas but should polish up nicely. Body is nice, paint shines up very well, believe it or not, all I did was wash her. It would look fantastic with a buff. The interior is in excellent all original condition.
Mechanically she looks very sound. I have not attempted to fire her up but with new fuel and a battery I am sure she will run great.
I have a warehouse of old Packard parts that I will be listing as one lot. A few years ago I purchased a collection that included a 48 Convertible and a 55 Clipper and a room full of parts. Doors, hoods, dashboards, misc chrome. Almost enough to build a car or two.
The car is located in Northbrook Illinois. I can store it here for two weeks or so while the winning bidder makes arrangements to pick it up. She will require a trailer or a tow truck with a winch.
Bid with confidence and bid often. This Packard will make a fantastic driver with very little effort.
