1964 Pontiac GTO Description:

Offered here is a rare beautiful Pontiac GTO, Hardtop Coupe, with 455 Pontiac engine, 4 speed Muncie (M-21) close ratio transmission and 3.23 special traction (limited slip) differential. Same car owner since 1976 (47 years). Body was restored and repainted in 2016 to the original color, skyline blue (beautiful), with no scratches or dings. The interior is dark blue and appears like original but carpeting and some upholstery was replaced in 2017. The instrument panel has Pontiac Rally instruments that fit in the panel and look original showing actual engine read-out instead of the indicator lights and full sweep tachometer. Original wheels with (Coker) Firestone redline radial tires and the deluxe spinner wheel covers. Steering wheel is the optional wood steering wheel. The outside mirror has remote adjustment, and the inside mirror has a day-night adjustment. The original AM radio works very good with the optional three-way speaker (both, front, rear) switch (sepra-phonic). Seat belts in the front and courtesy lights in the trunk, hood, cabin/door, and glove box. The PHS documentation on this car is included as well as the factory inventory sheet (Production Broadcast Notice). Also, included are the original complete service manuals and owner manuals for the car as well as car history and service records. Title (VIN 824F37116) is clear. Car is beautiful, runs great and everything works.

In 1978, the engine was replaced with a 1971 Pontiac 455 engine out of a Bonneville series car with engine code YC and D-port cylinder heads. The engine was rebuilt (30,000 miles ago) using High Output and heavy-dutyparts. The camshaft is a Crane replica of the Pontiac Ram Air III (RA III 9785744) camshaft with 301 intake duration and 313 exhaust duration. Intake rocker arms are Pontiac RA IV of 1.65 ratio. Rhoads leak-down hydraulic valve lifters are used to give good idle and low RPM performance. Intake manifold is the Pontiac aluminum dual plane high rise: 1971 High Output (HO) 455, part number 483674(rare). The carburetor is a performance Rochester Quadrajet (800 CFM) remanufactured by Sean Murphy Induction. Cylinders are bored 0.030 over with forged TRW pistons. Engine is blue-printed, balanced and magnafluxed for cracks. Exhaust manifolds are the Pontiac HO from a 1967 GTO. Pontiac heavy duty timing chain and 60 psi oil pump are in engine. Resultant engine data: 462 cubic inches of engine displacement, 410 horsepower, 480 foot-pounds of torque and 8.3 compression ratio. The total engine package has mostly Pontiac parts and is a sleeper since most people think it looks like the original engine under the hood, but instead it is a powerful 455 engine.

I live in South Dakota, but the car is located in Florence, Oregon. If you have any questions, please send me a message, and if I don't know the answer,I will contact the owner.
