1967 Sunbeam Alpine Description:

This 1967 Alpine V has been lovingly restored and owned for the last twenty five years by a gentleman who holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from GA Tech and a Masters in Automotive Engineering from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering. The restoration was started in 1993 and was completed in 2000. This is a beautiful, turn-key show winner that can be driven all year round.

The engine has been completely rebuilt including a reconditioned cam, new valves, guides, springs, tappets, timing chain and sprockets, cam bearings, crank bearing inserts, piston rings, all new seals and gaskets. The fuel pump, water pump and oil pump have been replaced. Auxiliary electric fan wired to adjustable thermostat was added to keep cool on hot days. It cranks right up and runs perfectly.

The transmission was completely disassembled and inspected, all seals, gaskets, throw out bearing, clutch and disk were replaced.

The rear axles were also disassembled, inspected and all seals and gaskets were replaced. The steering box was also treated to the same meticulous care.

The front suspension was disassembled, the shocks and all bushings and ball joints and anything else that moved was replaced along with a fresh front end alignment.

The paint is not original color. The previous owner went with Chrysler Forest Green Pearl, which is a prettier and much easier to find paint than the original Forest Green. There are a few imperfections in the paint, but overall a nice job.

All body seals were replaced along with new NOS Pilkington Triplex windshield.

Instead of vinyl, the seats, door panels, dash pads, and kick panels were done in Austrian leather. The convertible top is new as well. Carpet is also new.

The dash is solid walnut, the gauges are all correct Jaeger, and the center of the steering wheel is made out of walnut as well as the shift knob.

All electrics and lights work as well as the cassette (yes, cassette) radio and speakers.

Included accessories: original spare with new tire, fire extinguisher, jack, lug wrench, hand crank, new tonneau cover, Rootes repair and parts manual, and thousands of receipts and documents from the restoration.

It can also be seen on an upcoming episode of "Caffeine and Octane”. The car was in the May C&O Atlanta main show while they were filming all around the car. I have included pictures in the ad.
