I purchased this car in 201, it was sitting in a barn for the better part of 10 or more years. It is an original 454 car with a TH400 transmission.

I had the car painted this past Fall in the original War Bonnet Yellow.

I purchased this car from a private owner who took the car in trade from the original owner to cover some debt that was owed. He gave me as much history as he knew about the car and when he received it the car had been in storage for many years.
I believe I am the 2nd titled owner of this car. It was purchased new from Daniels Chevy in Swainsboro, Georgia and soon after the motor failed. In doing some research it appears this was a common issue related to bad oil pumps and Chevrolet introduced the 5/50 warranty program.

The motor in this car was replaced under that program from the dealer (I was told within the first several months of ownership) and has a "CE 156463" stamped on the motor, which from my research is CE for Chevy Engine, 1 for 1971 manufacturer and 56463 seems to be 50,000 is the designation for the Tonawanda manufacture plant, for which this is number 6463 warranty motor in the sequence.

When they replaced the motor they put headers on it but it still has the original distributor and A/C compressor (which works).

It has an L-88 hood that is in exceptional shape (it was re-seamed when I had it painted last December) and functional. Despite being in storage for so long, the car was all there when I bought it and I spent the hours making it a dependable driver.

Odometer says 77,500 and I believe that to be correct based on the overall condition. Here is what I've done:
- Brand new $12,000 paint job, DuPont War Bonnet Yellow, 200 hours of work. It's as nice a paint job as you'll find and the car looks brand new, all the lines on the car are perfect
- New weather stripping around doors and hood to cowl seal
- New power steering pump
- New power brake booster
- New alternator
- New rear brake calipers
- New chrome valve covers (I have the original old ones)
- New chrome air cleaner (fits within the L-88 cowl)
- New vacuum parts for wiper system (vacuum is solid)
- New tires (less than 500 miles)
- New chrome rally rims (a few months old)
- New rear torsion bars
- New rear link bushings
- New front and rear shocks
- New gas tank (I believe, from what I can tell)
- New high torque starter (lifetime warranty)
- New fuel filter
- Changed oil filter and oil
- Changed transmission fluid and filter
- Changed rear end fluid
- New spark plugs
- Flushed coolant
This is the last year of the front and rear chrome bumpers, which appear to be original and in very good shape.
The interior seats have no rips, door panels have no cracks, dash is perfect. It has a non-functional AM/FM cassette with the Chevy logo on the cassette door.
The car drives and runs very good. The 454 is strong and the TH-400 transmission shifts firm. The exhaust system is solid from the headers back to the mufflers.

This is a dependable driver with plenty of power and a respectable car to take to any show.

I'm tight on storage space and have another project car so that's why I'm selling it.
