This 1958 Rover is quite rare, known as both a RoverP4 and Rover 60, with a 4 speed manual transmission and right hand drive. The exterior is what we believe to be Brookland’s green, with green leather interior. Both the paint and the interior have had extensive restoration work, and the leather is a supple vintage. This car has relatively low mileage for its age, with no known mechanical issues. The chassis is solid as pictured. This car comes with quite a bit of original literature, history, and repair receipts. We believe this car came to the U.S. in 1991. We have a British Car restoration shop and are selling this Rover for one of our customers. Please ask any questions you may have. We appreciate serious inquiries and serious bidders only. International sales are welcome and we are willing to communicate shipping arrangements with you. I can be reached at 410-420-1202.
Some information about the Rover P4 from Wikipedia: TheRover P4series is a group ofmid-sizeluxurysalooncarsproduced by theRover Companyfrom 1949 until 1964. They were designed byGordon Bashford.
Their P4 designation is factory terminology for this group of cars and was not in day-to-day use by ordinary owners who would have used the appropriate consumer designations for their models such as Rover 90 or Rover 100.
Production began in 1949 with the 6-cylinder 2.1-litre Rover 75. Four years later a 2-litre 4-cylinder Rover 60 was brought to the market to fit below the 75 and a 2.6-litre 6-cylinder Rover 90 to top the three car range. Several variations followed.
These cars are very much part of British culture and became known as the 'Auntie' Rovers.[3]They were driven by topmost royalty includingGrace Kelly.
