1985 Oldsmobile Ciera Description:

1985 Oldsmobile Ciera Convertible

For General Motors, CEO Roger B. Smith invested heavily in computerization, front wheel drive and advanced assembly processes. One of the first products to reach the marketplace under this program was the GM A-Body. The Cutlass Ciera, like its A-Body platform mates, benefited from GM's Computer Command Control system, MacPherson strut front suspension, body color urethane bumpers, flush mounted glass, front wheel drive and on many models, fuel injection.

Ciera is a French name for girls, and it literally means princess angel. For consignment a little slice of angelic heaven in somewhat rare form, a 1985 Cutlass Sierra Convertible. Exact total numbers are not known, but this is belived to be 1 of 814 convertibles produced from Hess & Eisenhart. A brougham coupe reinforced due to the structural stability lost during the conversion.

Exterior
With mostly fairly straight steel, this Brougham is draped in Black paint. It has some scratches and faults but remain well preserved with steel panels minding their gaps. With mid 80's square and rectangle design cues, there is plenty of chrome trimmings to go around, and they do gracefully curving within the wheel wells, mid section wrap around (even the bumpers) chrome, and a wide rocker shiny cover with just a few stains on the very lowest part of the rocker. Badging is all there shouting loud and proud, and then even more trimmings around all glass on this car. A nice black canvas convertible top with a clear glass window on the back covers the top, and finely spoked wheel covers add bling to all 4 corners.

Interior
Loaded with conveniences, this angel has power windows, power locks, power seats, power mirrors, and a power convertible top. Burgundy leather covers the comfortable wide buckets up front, and a bench in the rear. Some nice folds and slight patina are seen on the front seats but are otherwise unremarkable. These flank a center console with a few storage areas within it. A burgundy padded dash has all the conveniences within it, and a stainless paneled instrument cluster which remains very clean. Burgundy carpet in thick pile form has slight stains but is in overall good condition throughout.

Drivetrain
This car sports a 3.0 Liter V6 engine that runs well and is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Undercarriage
Some surface rust on the mid section of the rockers, and a few dabs on the usual suspects, but all structurally sound with good floorpans and wheel wells.

Drive-Ability
All runs well after a quick start and warmup. It drives smoothly, shifts effortlessly, and has decent acceleration. All the power options are in working condition.
