1973 Oldsmobile Omega Description:

1973 Oldsmobile Omega :

This Olds is extremely clean and solid for an unrestored car. The paint is faded and patina, with the most patina on the hood, but the body is extremely straight. Floor pans are solid, rockers, quarters and so on. I can give more detailed description of the body over the phone.

The engine is the Olds 350 rocket, from the previous paint on the motor it appears to have been rebuilt at some point. I degreased and repainted the motor just recently in the original Olds blue. It has a recent complete tune up, plugs wires, cap and so on. New belts, new alternator, new battery. Edelbrock 4 barrel carb on original 4 barrel manifold. Engine has a lot of power(torque), mild cam with lope. Runs nice and smooth, excellent acceleration, Has dual exhaust and sounds great.

The car drives down the road nice and straight, front end is tight. Nice riding driving car with 3 speed automatic, shifts perfectly. Very reliable car that can be driven anywhere.

The interior carpet appears to be original and is in very good shape considering the age, No tears in carpet but it is discolored and stained. I did repair the driver side heel pad. The dash pad is cracked, the front seat needs reupholstered. The door panels and rear interior panels are in superb condition. The rear floor hatch area had surface rust only with some pitting, i sanded it down with DA, rust treated it and painted it flat black. The only area of rust in the car is the rear hatch itself.(not the jam, the hatch). Other than that the car is rock solid.

The rally wheels and tires are new.

In my opinion this car has considerable value based on the incredible condition that the sheet metal is in.

I do a lot of sheet metal replacement on classic cars and it is very difficult to find cars with original sheet metal in this condition. I did minimal work to this body, and i have been over every inch of the car looking for rust. The minimal work i did was removing and replacing a section of the passenger rear quarter panel wheel well arch area. I had the paint matched perfectly and flattened to match existing original paint on car. blended up the sail panel and forward of the quarter. Turned out perfect. -The car would likely have been owned by someone who had it garage kept the majority of its life in order for the metal to be this well preserved.. Any interested parties, i would like to go over at length the details on the body and mechanicals over the phone.

Couple things i forgot to mention, The car has air shocks on rear, the car can sit lower in the rear by letting some air out, and when it is lower the tires do not rub and the car rides smoothly. the wheels and tires are brand new, The car has power steering and power front disc brakes, the brake master cylinder is new, just replaced. i installed a mechanical temp gauge, the car only had the factory warning light for temp so i figured it should have a real gauge. The front and rear window regulators and glass are in excellent condition and roll up and down smoothly. Door locks go up and down smoothly as well. door and trunk key and ignition key. The headliner and window visors are in excellent condition. Headlights, tail lights, brake lights, blinkers, everything works. And i think that about covers everything.
