1966 Oldsmobile Starfire
The Starfire was a full size sport/luxury coupe. 1966 was the last year of this nameplate (until the compact car in the late 70's) and only 13,019 cars were produced in 1966. It is really a unique car as it has the luxury items of high end Oldsmobile's and performance of a 442. The car has a 375HP 425 V-8 and bucket seats with center console and factory tach.
This Starfire is a project car, or I hate to say it, a great parts car. It is very restorable, but will require significant work.
Body:
The car has rust and I will describe as best as possible:
Passenger fender - great cond, no rust
Driver's fender - rust on the bottom
Passenger door - great cond - no rust
Drivers Door - great cond, no rust
Hood - some rust on front edge but fixable
Floors - no rust - very solid
Frame - solid - no rust
Quarters - both rusty
Trunk Pan - rusty
Trunk Lid - good condition, surface rust
The grille and front bumper are in excellent condition. The rear bumper is rusty
Interior:
Original and in decent condition (see pictures). Will need headliner and carpet. Console is in great condition. Door panels are driver's quality. Overall, not bad...
Mechanical:
Original engine was pulled by a previous owner to have rebuilt. It was partially disassembled and then never done. Unfortunately, many of the original parts were lost. I have the heads and the bottom half of the engine, but missing the oil pan, intake, distributor etc. Also included is a complete 425 that I bought to put in the car. It was said to be a running engine when pulled. It is complete so you will have a good engine and a spare. Also included is the original turbo 400 transmission. I do not have the driveshaft or radiator.
Original spoke hubcaps included as well. Unique silver exterior with black interior.
I hope this car gets restored but realize that it may be a good donor to another Starfire out there.
Thanks for looking
