1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass F85 convertible:
1 of only 436 ever produced is what I’ve read.
Purchased as a father son project that just never happened. However an incredible sound system was installed along the way!
The Bad:
The car does have bondo bubbling through in various places. The floors are rusty in some areas and have patches coated with undercoating.
It is my understanding that all of this work was done more than 35 years ago, the car hasn’t seen rain or bad weather since.
The wipers do not work.
The Good:
The body and frame show no signs of any accident damage.
The doors open and close nicely without sag.
The car retains its original 330-4BBL (290 Horse Power) engine and it runs absolutely beautiful. The automatic transmission shifts out nicely with no issues as well. The car runs very quietly and drives down the road like a dream, even at highway speeds of 80 mph or more.
The sound system is amazing, there are speakers in the doors and a base system in the trunk all of which are in perfect working condition.
The wheels and tires are newer and are in perfect condition.
Front disc brakes were added and operate nicely, the brakes stop without pulling to either side.
Most everything works as it should including the lights, turn signals, heater, power top etc.
The top is older and showing signs of wear, however it goes up and down nicely.
All of the window glass including the windshield are in very nice presentable condition.
The chrome trim has a few nicks and dents here and there however is still very sharp.
Just jump in and drive, this Cutlass convertible runs, drives and shifts nicely, it is an absolute pleasure to own and drive.
