Up for auction is a beautiful 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR-4 in Glacier Pearl White with every factory option, including the large removable factory sunroof. It is one of 276 VR-4's built in this color in 1995. THE CAR MUST SELL!
The car has mechanical issues but is in good running and driving condition. I will start with the mechanical issues. The engine is using oil and needs to be checked out. I suspect that it needs valve seals but it may be more serious than that.
NOW HERE'S THE GOOD: It has been well loved and cared for by one owner since 2000 and has had three owners total. Garage kept, no smoking, never raced. Current Northern Virginia safety and emissions inspections. No accidents. Mobil One synthetic oil used since 2000. Documentation including all receipts for the last 17 years. Original numbers matching drive train.
I had the car repainted in 2010 in the factory Glacier Pearl White. THE PAINT AND BODY ARE NEARLY FLAWLESS!!! THE CAR IS BEAUTIFUL!
Car has the 1999 front fascia.Factory 18 X 9 chrome rims were replaced in 2007. Chrome is in VGC. Interior has normal wear but overall in very good condition. The active aero still works.
rd generation lifters were installed in 2007, no ticking. It has been driven very little during winters.
Factory service manuals (for a Dodge Stealth) and a few spare parts included.
Aftermarket upgrades include:
- Tanabe stainless dual exhaust with removable silencers
- Stillen downpipe
- Random Technologies stainless catalytic converter
- K&N air filter
- HKS boost controller (currently throwing an error code)
- HKS blow off valve
- Upgraded thicker anti-sway bars
- TEC Performance front and rear strut bars
- Polished intake manifold
- Polished valve cover
- Professionally tinted windows
- Upgraded stereo with subwoofer
- Hush mat sound proofing
- Twin Turbo floor mats
Other:
- New brake rotors and pads
- New performance clutch at 99k
- Alternator replaced at 99k
Other Problems / Issues:
- A/C has a refrigerant leak but A/C components (compressor, etc.) are good
- Power steering fluid is leaking; leak appears to be coming from the lines going to the rear, as the car as 4 wheel steering.
- Radio doesn't work but CD player does. There are some issues with the stereo.
- Power door locks have gremlins; I pulled the fuse.
- Boost controller is throwing an error code: This does not affect the car's drive-ability but only allows 12 lbs of boost.
- There seems to be a current draw somewhere, perhaps in the amplifier
With the mechanical issues fixed this car would be worth well over $10000.00. It's going to make a great car for someone willing to do the mechanical work. It does run and drive well as is and can be driven anywhere.
