Nice chance for someone mechanically inclined in the NW to get a Delica without the import hassles & cost! Look at the $10k+ price tags for a nice one. You won't find one this price range again..
Fully USA legal, clean WA state title, should be transferable to any state (California please do your own research).

AS-IS not running, needing mechanical work. Rough shape. Too many minor imperfections etc to list! Have not pulled head to see extent of engine damage. Likely needs new head (very common issue on this engine, after the fact I've learned that a pyrometer is a necessity, for these. Could be just headgasket if you're lucky! Easy access to the top engine, not nearly as bad as you would expect for a "mid engine" rig. I have quite a bit of respect for Mitsubishi engineers after owning this thing.

1990 Delica (look it up on google if you need more info) from Japan, import right hand drive, WA clean title and fully USA legal, with crystal lite roof. (high roof, rear compartment skylights).. It's a real 4wd (actually built on a 4x4 frame&suspension) & a diesel, so very fun & gets attention wherever you go. The right hand drive is not as hard as you would think to get used to.
Interior is decent up front no mold or water damage, drivers side seat has a seam that ripped open (see photo), (could be repaired), entire back is empty no seats, build it out as a camper to your needs, or use as I did and just throw in an air or foam mattress for camping.
Parts are available for these things if you are resourceful, they have a growing USA & North America following. Especially BC Canada, PNW, and Colorado it seems.. With the internet nowadays you can always find a part somewhere online and pay a bit extra for UPS next day, 2nd day, etc if needed. Same as going to the Ford dealer and ordering the parts, they don't ever have what I need in stock anyway..
The body is the same as the rare mitsubishi van-wagon that was actually sold in the USA as 2wd. ...and the engine shares a lot of parts with the small diesel mid 80's mitsubishi montero, mighty max, dodge d50, ford ranger...others I think! Huge printed service manual included.
The bad: probably blown head (frequently cracked or warped head on these when headgasket goes). It overheated (temp gauge never warned me! and when I checked oil, oil level was high). Assume blown headgasket and water in oil. I let it cool down & refilled coolant, started it once for a few seconds and ran really rough, I had it towed and haven not tried anything since. Broken front pop up sunroof (could be custom made, ordered from Japan, or take a road trip and track one down in Canada where these are relatively common) and minor dented roof from a falling tree (see photos), needs power steering (major leak) fixed, ignition switch has been bypassed, needs drivers door cylinder lock installed, and new outer lock cylinder ring, needs a little front end/suspension work, some rust (some seam rust and minor bubbles under paint), etc. It's very rough all around basically. oFr mechanically inclined & motivated buyer only! The plywood covering broken front sunroof is just a temporary quick fix "clamped" on.
The good: The unique factor!!! Was a running & driving work hauler/camp truck until it overheated. Can go anywhere a regular 4x4 pickup can go. Great ground clearance & skidplate protects the engine. Good spare tire. Beefy offroad tires. Some new parts. Great road trip, festival, ski camping, and remote/ around the world/ etc expedition vehicle. Great vehicle to work out of while living in the field. Always gets attention (for better or worse) and you'd be one step closer to being a mailman if you wanted...
The cruising speed on these things is a little slow for some, 60-65 is comfortable (it takes awhile to get up to that speed). Much faster than 70 feels like you are pushing it too hard for anything but a short period of time.
I always prefer manual transmissions but with right hand drive, I actually prefer the auto. I did test drive a manual before buying this one. The Delica is somewhat comparable to the Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro but the Delica actually has a true 4x4 frame and suspension instead of unibody.
My work situation has changed so I am letting this beauty go. No reserve auction, highest bidder takes it. Bring a trailer.
