Rooted in Project Number ADO23, the new MGB debuted at the October 1962 London Motor Show and succeeded the MGA, Abingdons first modern sports car. Featuring monocoque architecture and impeccably clean body styling, the MGB included roll-up windows and a useful trunk, with power from the companys tried-and-true OHV inline 4-cylinder engine routed through a 4-speed manual gearbox. The MGB remained in production for the next 18 years to become the most successful of all British sports cars ever sold.
