1951 MG TD Description:
his 1951 MG TD was purchased by the current owner in 1997 and is finished in red over tan. It has the original 1,250cc inline-four and four-speed manual gearbox. In 1993, the car underwent a frame-up restoration.Only 160 miles have been recorded since the rebuild.It is finished with red paint and a tan interior. All of the brightwork was removed and either rechromed or polished in 1993. It still spots the stock 15″ steel disc wheels with polished chrome hubcaps, and a covered spare is mounted at the rear. The braking system was reportedly rebuilt in 2005,the transmission rebuilt in 2005. Before being offered for sale, it received a carburetor cleaning, a new fuel pump, and a new battery. This car starts right up and runs happily. It shifts and stops easily. It is a very fun car to drive. With a professional detail job, it will be the hit of and car show. The canvas top has been down for quite a while and needs to be stretched and to close tightly. Drive it to dinner or to the club. This MG TD is now offered on behalf of the current owner with side curtains, tonneau cover, literature, lots of service records, and a clean Florida title. The only fault to be noted is that the canvas top has been down for quite a while and needs to be stretched and left out in the sun for a day or two to close tightly.Payment is expected within seven days of auction end.
