MG MGB 1980 LIMITED EDITION
1980 MG MGB Description:
This is a 1980 Limited Edition black MGB with 52,954 miles and is being sold by the ORIGINAL OWNER with title. While the car has been categorized as in "fair" condition as it does not currently run, I have been told by a mechanic that it would be suitable for restoration. When it was last driven it held the road like it was on rails with rack and pinion steering. It is a straight 4 cylinder engine that runs on regular gas with a manual transmission with 4 forward gears and reverse. It was getting fuel efficiency of 20 miles per gallon locally and nearly 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The interior is British tan and has suffered dry rot and the exterior has rust spots (less than 5% of the car's surface area). This is a convertible which was originally vinyl and has been replaced with black fabric and is quite nice both in appearance and condition. Unlike the original top, the back window zips down to provide far better airflow comfort. The plexiglass will need to be replaced and should be relatively easy as the stitching can be "popped" and resewn with the replacement. There is a separate hard top for winter use and does provide greater warmth retention than the convertible alone. The car was both pleasurable and an exciting drive. The trunk is spacious for a car this size. Very little structural plastic ... a well made sold sports car. This car is being sold AS IS. Thank you for looking.
