1970 MG MGB-GT Description:

This 1970 MGB-GT has all the right stuff – chrome bumpers, and alloy rallye wheels. And it pre-dates the power-robbing emissions equipment of later models.This car also has the popular Datsun 280Z 5-speed transmission upgrade.Odometer showed 7192 miles when I bought it in September 2011, but I think that’s plus 100,000 miles.The only mechanical equipment not restored or replaced is the steering rack and rear wheel bearings – which show no signs of a problem.

SinceSeptember, 2011 nearly $20,000 worth of restoration was done, resulting in a car that needs absolutely no further work to drive anywhere with pride and confidence.It looks as good as the photos.Additional photos are available, but please ask for specifics so I can respond in a thorough manner.Age-related limitations have made it difficult for my wife and I to enjoy the car, so it is time to sell it.I will cooperate with professional inspection, but only by a shop that specializes in British car maintenance and restoration.I will meet prospective buyers at Austin Bergstrom International Airport to show the car, or at my home in Georgetown, Texas.

125,597 MGB-GT’s were built in the car’s 1965-1974 model run. That’s only 25% of the MGB production, so good GT’s are becoming difficult to find.The body design was done by the famous Italian Pininfarina company.Mechanicals are identical to the MGB Roadster, but its bigger interior space accommodates more luggage.
