1979 MG Midget Description:

For Sale: is this1979 MG Midgetcustom. The vehicles restoration has been started and the Midget features many new parts already installed including:

Body - New 1961 to 1974 Front Fenders (Both Left & Right), new 1961 to 1974 Front Valance and Cowl Assembly, 2 Custom Reskinned Doors (Both Drivers and Passengers) with the outside door handles and lock cylinders removed. The doors also have had the vent and rollup window channels closed off to enable the vehicle to be converted back to the side curtains used on the earlier cars. The front and rear rubber bumper assemblies have been removed giving the MG the bumper less look in the front while 1970 to 1974 2 piece bumpers have been installed on the rear of the vehicle. A new Fiberglass Hood was installed and a new Fiberglass Truck Lid (not installed) will be included with the sale of the vehicle.

Convertible Top - The Midget has a brand new Robbins Top installed mounted on a new convertible top Frame and Header with all new webbing, Latches and hardware installed.

Suspension - the MG has a new Rear Suspension installed featuring new leaf springs, new bushings, suspension links, U-bolt's, shackles and all brackets.

Fuel System - a new Fuel Tank with new 5/16" lines have been installed connected to a new AC Delco electric fuel pump. A rebuilt Weber DGV Carburetor conversion has been installed on the Midgets 1500 motor complete with an electric choke completes out the vehicles fuel system.

Engine - a new Cylinder Head complete with new Valves, springs and Retainers has been installed on the 1500 motor, mounted with a new ARP Cylinder Head Stud kit. All new intake and exhaust studs and hardware was also installed with the cylinder head. A new water pump assembly along with new aluminum water pump housing was also installed. The vehicle has a new Radiator along with new Shrouds and all new Belts, Hoses and cooling system piping and fitting installed.

Electrical - a new distributor with points and a new internal resistor coil provide the ignition for the motor. The vehicle features new Headlight Assemblies with Halogen Bulb conversions and 2 new tail light assemblies - 1961 to 1969 style. Two (2) NOS parking light assemblies have been installed on the new front fenders on the MG.

Brakes - complete new brake system with new calipers, wheel cylinders, pads, shoes, drums, rotors and new brake hoses have been installed on the vehicle. Also installed were new wheel bearings and seal assemblies on the wire wheel hubs.

Wheels and Tires - The Midget has 4 new 13" Wire Wheel Rims (Painted) installed on the vehicle with 4 new 13" Toyo Tires, new Tubes and rim strip mounted on the new rims.
