Selling my 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator. It's amatching numbers 351 4V real deal Eliminator with the desirable 4 speed transmission option. It has power steering, power front disc brakes and a working rim blow steering wheel. I will include a picture of all the options this Eliminator came with from the factory.
This Cougar came from the west coast so there is very limited rust. If you see in the pictures the rust is limited to the quarter, rear wheel opening and one of the doors. These are minor in comparison to the typical Cougar. The mileage is believed to be original 35,263, however I can not prove this.The paint appears to be originalfor the most part and my intention was to leave it alone and keep as a survivor. The original engine runs very well andpulls strong. The transmission shifts fine, but there is some play in the shifter. The hidden headlights and sequential tail light directional all work great. The reverse lights stay on or should I say unpredictable. All gages work well, except the clock. Nice oil pressure and runs cool. The radiator will eventually need work as it is getting green at the bottom of the core, but not leaking. I did change the brake calipers last year as it wasn't stopping very well. I haven't had the time to completely go through and check out everything. Overall it is a good car and it is getting harder to find non-restored cars that are complete and are in this condition and are not pieced together.
