1966 Mercury Comet Caliente Description:

1966 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible for sale. It is a very nice daily driver, that’s gets crazy attention! I have it insured and registered in my name. The family and I cruz this car around town and work all the time, so she runs, drives, shifts and stops great! The top is all power, and goes up and down with a flip of the switch. It has a V-8 289 (that am sure was rebuilt, because I have had the valve covers off and the lifters, rods and top of the heads are super clean.) with automatic trans in the floor. The car does not burn oil or smoke at all! It was originally an automatic on the column, but I moved it to the floor. I have fairly new dual exhaust with headers and glass packs out the rear. This was going to be my sons car, but we turned our thoughts and ideas to another project, that is the only reason I have her for auction.
Besides it being an old car (1966) the only real thing to make her right is body work, body work! As you can see in the pictures, the rear quarter needs to be fixed and there are dings and dents in the tops of the fenders, bubbling paint here and there. This was the way I purchased it about a year or so ago. The good thing is the car has minimal rust, and the frame rails, torque boxes as well as the underneath are just fine. If you are looking for a head turner and a nice ride this is the car!

-I installed the fiberglass hood but I do have the original hood that goes with the car.

-I do have fenders from another Comet that I will throw in with the car. They are decent and I will never use them.

-I have the trim for the front grill that goes with the car.

This is all i can think of right now. I have a good penny into the car, because like i said we weren't going to sell it until we turned our ideas to something else.
