This is a sweetheart of a little car, unfortunately haven't had time to use it this summer so I figured let it go to someone else to enjoy it. I purchased it two years ago with intentions of just flipping it but found myself driving it as much as I could on Sunny afternoons. I am unsure who did all the work on it, I was told it was done by a shop in central California. I was also told the motor and transmission two years ago had 88,000 on them, the factory Ford fuel injected motor and automatic overdrive transmission are linked to a alloy Inc. 8.8 drum to drum rear axle . Car starts without issue leaks no fluids, and the transmission shifts through all the gears flawlessly also with no leaks. The car does retain front and rear stock suspension, looks as most of it was replaced. I did check the brakes when I got it two years ago and all appeared to be about 70%, stops very straight. Paint and body are in excellent condition, no patches or touchups to any pinch welds on any body panels are apparent ..paint and body are in excellent condition, car looks to have been repainted before I purchased it with factory original color, and still appears in overall very good condition with no blistering whatsoever .Interior is factory original and untouched, a very comfortable car to drive, with all factory instrumentation in working order, including wipers heater defrost, and working a.m. radio.Factory original 14 inch rims are still in trunk as tires and wheels were switched to 15's with brand new tires all the way around. Fuel tank was also retrofit with high volume in tank electric fuel pump, also has new exhaust front to rear with a very nice rumble. These Mercurys are very rare into door fashion especially in this one gets absolutely tons of attention at any cruise night, Car definitely needs to be driven by a family that appreciates it and uses it on a daily basis, as I used to !!
