1953 Mercury

1953 Mercury Monterey Description:

I'm selling my 1953 Mercury which is a running and driving project. Overall the car is very solid and would make a great restoration or custom car. The body is in good shape and wouldn't take much to be paint ready. The interior is in need of everything. The original seats are there and the headliner bows are in the trunk. I have an extra set of hubcaps, steering wheel, all the body emblems and dash accessories in the trunk as well. The party that owned the car before me rebuilt the front end and redid all of the brakes. They also installed a new wiring loom and converted the car to 12 volt. All of the running lights work. The car has factory power steering and power brakes. The floors are solid and the trunk area is also solid. The windows are original and they have some blistering here and there. I have a clear title in my name. The car does have a large muffler which is not worth keeping. This was installed by the previous owner. The hood hinges are shot and need to be replaced.The motor runs strong but it does have a small lifter noise. I'm not a mechanic but I feel I should disclose this.
