Sport Leicht Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL in Astral Silver (DB-735G) with Blue Leather interior and matching Navy blue original soft top.
This is a rare low mile original time capsule 450 SL with just 39,770 original miles. It comes with the original factory hard and soft top. In excellent high quality condition, the vehicle has virtually been in the same owner's hands since newly purchased in May of 1979.
Always garaged and kept out of weather and sun the car is beautiful and shows in excellent condition. The paint is largely original with proper depth thickness. Straight body panels and even spacing. All the glass, rubber, brightwork and trim are in very nice preserved condition. There is absolutely no rust anywhere on the vehicle. There are a few minor imperfections to be expected on a vehicle of this age such as a few scratches here and there. The 14 inch factory alloy non-chrome wheels do not have curb rash or damage.
The blue leather interior is in beautiful highly preserved original condition with no leather fade, sagging on the seats, rips, tears or separation of seams. Thecarpet shows very nice, wood and trim are perfect and the dashboard is all original free of cracks, fading or damage. The instrument cluster gauges all work as they should. The needles still have orange/red color. Allpower windows, electric switches and lights are in working order. It comes with the original factory Becker AM/FM radio that still operates. The trunk has the original spare and tool roll kit. The soft top is the original German canvas Poliglas / Navy Blue in color - without rips, tears or issues and the compartmentwhere it is stored isextremely tidy and neat.
It drives like Mercedes intended with a tight suspension, no steering play and tracks incredibly smooth and straight down the road. The transmission shifts accurately and smooth through all gears. The motor starts right up and idles steady. It driveswith full power top to bottom on this strong-young motor.Mechanical repairs/service just completed including: newplugs and wires, AC/Heat servo replacement and valve cover gaskets replaced.
Alloriginal books, manuals and convertible tools are present and accounted for including the original delivery date and matching numbers data card. Huff key and valet key included for the central locking system. Recent service records.
