For sale 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. Finished in blue over Parchment MB-Tex, the car is powered by a matching-numbers 2.8L inline-six paired with the original 4-speed automatic transmission. Work in 2016 included replacing the brake booster, servicing the air conditioning system, refreshing the interior, fitting a period Becker radio, and installing a new soft top.
Factory 14” steel wheels feature one-piece color-matched hub caps and are mounted with Americus Classic 787 whitewall tires out back and Michelin rubber up front. US-market lighting is retained and includes the correct all-red taillights and earlier-style headlights.
The cabin is trimmed in Parchment MB-Tex upholstery complemented by gray loop carpeting and wood accents atop the padded dash. An interior refresh in 2016 included repairing the door pockets and reattaching the vinyl at the door panel tops, as well as reupholstering the rear top boot. Power steering and air conditioning are equipped, and the air conditioning system was serviced in 2016.A period Becker Europa FM/AM stereo was retrofitted with a hidden iPod adapter and installed in 2016.
