1978 MERCEDES BENZ 450sel BEAUTIFUL BLACK & CHROME,PALOMINO INTERIOR
Executive Towncar
BODY TYPE
1978 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series Description:
Eye catching, excellent running and driving long wheelbase Mercedes 450SEL executive model. Not a show car, but a super attractive, always eye catching black beauty with nearly 100% original features including Mercedes paint in decent condition, palomino mixed leather and tex interior with cracking leather, still very serviceable. Drives great, starts every time, A/C blows very cold (I'd guess less than 1 in 100 Mercedes of this age still have working A/C) brand new $500 metal body heater ac servo, $3500 in recent engine work and maintenance, $800 recent shocks and suspension, $800 in recent California approved cat converters (passes smog every time) nearly new tires. Could stand a little vacuum line refurbishing (locks were still auto-closing properly until just a few weeks ago). Super solid, reliable, massive, impressive car all around, roughly 7 on a scale of 10 for classic cars. Odometer stopped as typical for older Mercedes, honest guess at mileage is around 225,000. Don't come if you expect a show car, this is a gorgeous reliable daily driver for about 1/50th today's price for equivalent new Mercedes model (this was the most expensive passenger car in America in 1978, more than double a top Cadillac or Lincoln)
