Here is a 1965 Mercedes Benz 230sl Pagoda with automatic transmission, both tops and European specification headlamps and speedometer. To discuss this vintage Mercedes in detail, please call me at the number listed at the bottom of the description.
Purchased out of California, as a low mileage example. The speedometer is Euro spec and registers in kilometers per hour and the odometer registers 59,327 kilometers, or 36,864 miles.
The cars repaint is old and showing it's age and patina. The old lacquer is cracking. As is, the car is a 20 footer. Turn the starter and the 2.3 liter six jumps to life and runs strong and smooth. The automatic transmission shifts sure and true. The steering and suspension is good, with no bounce or slop. Brakes are fine, as well. The black soft top is very nice. The exhaust note is great and the visibility is excellent.
This 65 Pagoda can be enjoyed as is, or would be an excellent candidate for a light restoration. As is, it would be an excellent daily driver.
Current Black Book CPI, Cars of Particular Interest, Collectible Vehicle Value Guide #3 "good" condition value is $65,000 with #2 "excellent" condition value being $117,000. A #1, concourse car would be worth far more than the #2 value, while a "fair" condition #4 car is valued at $40,000. These car continue to be an appreciating, timeless classic.
