The original crankcase was damaged and an excellent donor crankcase was found that was also manufactured in 1958. The motor was rebuilt according to factory specifications with all new pistons and rings and a new head was also installed with new valves and seals. The rebuilt motor runs like new in every respect. Restored Hella foglights as well as two restored functional tube radios with receivers (Becker Europa High Fidelity and a Blaupunkt) for installation will come with the car as well as countless spare parts, the original damaged engine, and another spare engine with transmission. The vehicle comes with many records as well as a fullrecord of the engine rebuild. This Mercedes has won numerous awards including at New Hope, PA,the Deutsche Classic in Oley, PA, and at other events. It comes with all the operating, maintenance, owner's, and parts manuals.
