1976 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series 450 SEL Description:

A true rust-free rural Pennsylvania barn find.
We offer for sale a worthy restoration candidate, or very useful parts car.
We have had this car running. It needs a battery, but the engine runs and idles properly, has a tight bottom end, does not smoke, presents proper oil pressure, and has no valve train noise. The transmission shifts well through the forward gears, but has a slip in reverse. Additionally, the power steering does not function.
The interior shows its age with some cracks in the dash/wood veneer and worn carpets, yet the door panels, seats, center console and headliner are all very nice. The glass is all intact and free of cracks or scratches. The sunroof works, but needs a slight adjustment in the right rear corner to close flush with the roof panel.
The exterior chrome, lenses and trim pieces are all very nice except for a small dent in the rain gutter above the passenger side windshield and another in the rain gutter over the left rear window (see photos).
What is most impressive about our Mercedes is that it shows no rust in the floors, frame, door bottoms, rocker panels, door sills, or wheel wells. Please examine the photos closely, it really has survived remarkably well.
Please note that there is a large dent in the horizontal surface of the trunk. Also, we do not have a trunk key, it is locked and we cannot open it. The photo of the spare tire well shows its exterior surface to be rust free.
All of the exterior sheet metal is rust free and laser straight (except for the aforementioned dent in the trunk)
Even the Becker Mexico radio illuminates and plays both Am and Fm signals.
Please know that although we describe this as a largely intact vehicle, this car has not been serviced or safety inspected. Subsequently we offer it for sale AS IS as a TOW AWAY only. It is not safe for road use before a proper safety and mechanical evaluation.
This car is sold with a clean Pennsylvania title that reads mileage EXEMPT.
All vehicle sales require a $110 Documentary Fee.
