1990 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Description:

Selling 1990 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL with rare AMG Front chin spoiler, European bumper and headlights, AMG Rear spoiler and ///AMG badges.
** This is not a real AMG Mercedes, and does not include paperwork from AMG **
Getting into the particulars of the vehicle, it's a good running and driving Mercedes Benz 420 SEL with some Genuine AMG parts thrown into the mix to add that extra wow factor. The great part about it is you can drive this representation for a fraction of the cost without any guilt. It's a cruiser, something to improve on and make your own. It's a great start for someone looking for that driver as the black leather interior has been kept in excellent condition by the tinted windows and factory rear power sunshade. The carpet is in good condition with only slight fading of the instruments and dash wood trim that could easily be polished out. There has been a professional repair to the left drivers side interior door panel that almost blends seamlessly. The seats are firm, and the fronts have power memory controls with the rare orthopedic controls to increase comfort. The air conditioning blows cold and works well always, the heater blows hot but does at times cool under hard acceleration until fully warmed up in the winter. The wipers work and this vehicle has heated side view mirrors, spray nozzles and windshield washer tank. All lights work including turn signals, brake lights, fog lights, marker lights, and third brake light. All of the power seats and controls work, it has dual air bags and a functional massive moon roof. It also has the rear power sunshade however it only raises by itself, as you must manually lower it. Has working power antenna with Pioneer AM/FM/ CD player with 3.5 aux port. Missing the left rear window switch, I'd have replaced it by now but I don't have any more left side switches left as I've used them all thru the years.
The powertrain runs out smooth and it shifts nice into all gears including reverse without issue. The engine bay is clean and is only in need of nothing at this time. Newer fuel distributor and EHA valve with K&N air filter installed. Tires are Pirelli and have wear on the inside edges on all four tires due to the fact the vehicle is lowered and has that cambered in look. I purchased the car lowered this way and wasn't sure about it, so I'd recommend a set of H&R lowering springs to complement the look. The front end is worn, but not loose. I'd recommend ball joints if you changed out the springs. Highway speeds are relatively smooth but it does have a bit of a shimmy between 70-80 MPH, probably needs a good balance of the tires as it's smooth at all other speeds. Car is fun to drive and could be driven home across country even with the items mentioned as they are. I would suggest doing some maintenance such at timing chain guides, belts, and a good cleaning and re-oiling of the K&N air filter but again it runs out fine now and these maintenance suggestions are entirely up to you. If you're familiar with these cars you know it's good standard fare advice.
The exterior body is in pretty good shape. Original paint on the body but the AMG bumper is flaking as shown in the photos. There are also a few rust spots here and there on the body such as the front lower part of the fender and one on the back deck lid area that have been treated that were the size of a quarter but clean underneath and everywhere else. Has a few dings, no real dents but a few scuffs here and there that always fade away with a little polish. If you keep it waxed it looks good, even up close. It's black, so obviously this will be a constant effort to keep in such a state while driving daily.
No reserve auction, highest bidder gets a great car with lots of value built in! Opening bid is the value of the AMG and Euro parts that alone are worth the opening bid as they are rare and expensive when you do find them. Selling because I simply have too many vehicles at the moment and I am hoping the vehicle will find its way into the hands of an enthusiast that appreciates the marquee as much as I do as it feels like the car is worth a whole lot more than the asking price, but again, it's driver with some rare parts added on. Somewhat conflicted on selling the vehicle but I have other priorities at the moment and I know passing the car on is the right thing to do. Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone bidding!
I hope all of this best explains everything and I welcome anyone to come view and drive the vehicle prior to purchase as the vehicle is being sold AS-IS, no refunds and all sales final.
