For any potential buyers, please use the "Make Offer" button if you wish to make anoffer, thank you!

Note: The 1979 Lincolns had a different or shorter VIN number than modern cars, because of this I could not use the EBay Autocheck service for this listing.

-If you are looking at low mileage older cars (prior to 1981 according to Autocheck, verifyingthe actual mileage requires additional information from the seller. Most cars before the 1980s had mechanical mileage readouts which could be rolled back. Another thing to consider, cars listed with apparent low mileage may have actually rolled past 99,999 which resets the odometer to zero, the car'sphysical conditionis the real determining factor.

For this revised listing, the asking price has been revised downward.

A couple of pictures have replaced.

The dollar figure for the listing is a suggested number; I will consider any serious offer at this time.

Please review my EBay feedback.

-Four things to considerwith my stated mileage:

1.I have most of the smog check records going back to 1996 which agree with the mileage.

2.The car has been in the our family since I gave my dad a ride to the Lincoln dealer in 1979, to pick it up. It has always been registeredin the family in California. My dad seldom drove the car, (he had three other cars for work, and shopping), He drove his "baby" on a couple of trips to San Diego prior to 1985, and for the car's every "two year" smog check*.

*Funny story with the car and the "smog checks", after around 1984, my dad would park the car in the garage after the car's smog test. Then the car would sit would sit for two years until a new test was needed, he would have to call AAA to get a replacement battery because the old one would be flat. He would then drive it around to use up most of the old gasoline, then refill the car, and get the smog test. Since I have had the car I used Sta-bil in the fuel, and have driven it on a more regular bases.

3.Maintenance records

1,000 estimated miles, In 1985, he had the oil and filter changed, this from what I could determine in 1996.

2,163 miles, I drove the car out of the garage in Orange, December 1996. Jiffy Lube that month, Oil and filter, Rear Gear Oil GL-5, zerk fittings greased, and new wiper blades.

3,908 miles, June 26, 1999, Oil and Filter changed

4,628 miles, September 24, 2000 Automatic transmission changed 7 qts, cleaned metal filter.

5,960 miles, February 9, 2001 Oil and Filter changed, Air filter changed.

6,777 miles, March 1, 2001 New Goodyear tires P235/75R15 (record of sale with documents), Front alignment checked. Note: 22 year old original tires removed, not worn, but surface cracked and dry. Original Michelinspare in the truck.

7,253 miles, June 2, 2001 Rebuilt Air conditioning system, (record of sale with documents)

7,582 miles, August 26, 2001 Oil and filter changed, flushed and changed coolant to Dexcool.

8,500 miles, December 1, 2001 New Belts, (Old belts in trunk)

10,063 miles, June 13, 2002 Oil and Filter change

12,369 January 1, 2004 Front end zerk fittings greased

13,576 miles, November 6, 2004 Oil and Filter changed

16,351 miles, September 6, 2009 Oil and Filter changed, battery replaced, greased front zerk fittings.

After 2009 I drove the car very little, except for smog checks, used

Sta-bil in the fuel.

17,020 June 2017 Fuel pump replace with new part.

4.Appearance and wear: The leather driver's seat is in very good condition, and the car has its original floor mats, (see pictures).

*NEW: For any potential California buyers, I just had the Smog Test done on 6-28-2017 that starts the90 day windowfor a new owner in California, to not need a new smog test when registering the car.

* Related to the emissions system, the original emissions sticker on the valve cover is uncommon as it represents the California version, not the 49 states example.

-For people outside of California who are not familiar, the smog test can give you an idea of general running condition of an older car. For my Lincoln, in the last decades, the state has sent me to a “Test Only” facility, (They do not do any repairs on a car for this test).

When the car is tested is put on a dyno meter type device, with the drive wheel on rollers. The “dyno” simulates actual driving conditions under load, first at 15 mph then at 25 mph.

For the recent test here are some results, 6/28/2017:

15mph

RPM: 1319, HC (hydrocarbons) MAX allowed 175, Average 40, Measured 20

CO (Carbon Dioxide) MAX 1.17, Average 0.17, Measured 0.00

NO (Nitrogen Oxides) MAX 1215, Average 520, Measured 699

25mph

RPM: 1280, HC MAX allowed 142, Average 31, Measured 17

CO MAX 0.97, Average 0.15, Measured 0.00

NO MAX 1075, Average 452, Measured 628

Older cars in California can have issues passing this test, my Lincoln has always passed easily, and I generally get complements on the vehicles condition from the Testing personnel.

General history of the car:

The car was ordered custom, and sent to California, were it was picked at a Lincoln dealer near Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA. It was parked in Orange, California until around 1998, since then it has been at my house in Moreno Valley, California.

It always has been garaged, or double covered, ever since, (see the pictures). When I got the car it had around 2,500 miles on it, I have driven it periodically ever since. The longest trip it took in the last 30 years was a trip to Las Vegas. It has current tags, and passed our California smog test last year. The car has always been licensed since it was new and has had the every two year smog test since new.

-Years ago I added a Sony 10 pack CD changer which is in the trunk; it plays through the stock Quad 8 Track AM/FM Radio on FM band 88.3.

-To keep the car level when full of passengers I replaced the original rear shocks with air shocks, I generally keep it at 40 to 50 psi.

-While I have had the car, the R12 A/C system ran out of refrigerant, and I then had it converted it to the R134a type, this was done professionally with a new compressor, and associated needed components.

The 1979 Lincolns had an odd “pressure valve”, A/C control system; I could not find any parts prior to the conversion, so with the help of a Midwestern company I converted it to the “pressure switch system”, like most other cars. The air-conditioning works, I do add R134a every so often as needed, here in the near desert conditions of Riverside County air-conditioning is a must.

The front under the hood insulation panel has been changed out with an aftermarket one, (see picture).

- Issues that I am currently aware of:

-The “automatic high beam dimming system” works when it feels like it, along with the "automatic" headlight function. The headlight works manually just fine.

-The chrome bumpers have some minor pit point chrome loss in areas. From a few feet away this pin point scattered chrome loss it is not very noticeable, in my opinion. (See pictures).

-When the car was painted at the factory they must have had some issue with the paint gun, this only effected inside the truck lid, there are some runs and brownish color mixed in spots inside the truck lid. The exterior of the car look great, (again please see pictures).

-The interior rear cloth covered deck area (behind the rear seat), has a small spot of damage from some foam tape which held a bobble head statue in the past, (see pictures).

- Things which will go with the car:

A set of original 1979 Lincoln Repair manuals

A Lincoln garage door control box which came with the car, (not tested)

Various documents, some parts, and records which I have gathered over the years, including a copy of a “build” paper which I found in the car, the original disintegrated years ago, a 1979 copy, from the dealer, shipping paper, it is like a “window sticker” I have been told, and some sales brochures, which I recently found.

A letter from Ford, dated September 9th, 1999, which states that the car has no recall issues, and a letter from Ford, dated July 27th, 1999, which gives some additional history on the car.

I will also include a fairly large collection of 8 track tapes including some Quad type.

If you have any questions please send a message through the Ebay system, I have been with Ebay since the around 1998 and have sold a couple of cars and motorcycles. Please review my feedback.

This is a 38 year old classic car which is in mostly original condition. I cannot guaranteethis car in any way please review the "Please read" section at the end of my listing.
