1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car

1977 Lincoln Town Car Description:

Nice 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car. $3,500 of work completed since November 2016, including:
- Full carb rebuild- Full tune up (including new distributor cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires)- Replaced starter solenoid- New front shocks- New Hankook white wall tires- New ignition switch- New Interstate battery and battery cable ends- New fuel pump

This baby runs like a top (or to be more specific, it runs like tops used to run back in 1977).
Paint believed to be original. Good "20 footer" but you would want to repaint if you were going to show the car.
Things to know:
1. Like any good 40 year old, a couple of things don't function quite as they used to: (a)power locks work when they feel like it (sometimes they all work, sometimes only a couple of doors respond); (b) passenger side power seat doesn't go backwards and forward consistently; (c) the Cartier clock is 100% accurate, but only twice per day. Right now it is spot-on accurate at 6:09am and 6:09pm. Added bonus -- new owner can choose their own times for 100% accuracy!; (d)the "quadraphonic sound" (whatever that is....) 8-track appears to only function on a couple of tracks. Either that or the Kenny Rogers tape I keep listening to is flawed... Box of 8 tracks in the trunk included!
2. The moonroof is fully functional and it is awesome! Larger than the bathtubs in most New York City apartments!
3. The original owner's manual is included AND includes the original owner's notations of MPG on the back cover. Double digits was not out of the question!!
4. It is no wonder parents didn't like their kids going out on dates in these things in the '70s. The back seat in this thing definitely encourages teen pregnancy!
5. The car is awesome fun to drive but with two young kids at home I just don't have enough time to spend with it. Time for a new home where someone can spend more time behind the wheel!
6. You'll find plenty of 1970s Town Cars on eBay, some priced very aggressively (in my opinion...). To me the main difference between those cars and this one is likely the paint. Were this repainted I would have no qualms about listing it for $10,000. Save some cash, enjoy an awesome, mechanically solid car, and repaint in the future if you feel like it!
