1979 Lincoln Continental Collector's Series Description:

Despite all good intentions I never had a chance to drive this car I bought a few years ago and had in storage in Milford, PA. Just spent over $3,000 having the car put in mechanically perfect condition: new radiator and hoses; 2 barrel Holley carb. (the only non-OEM part on the car), flushed the gas tank and new hoses and fuel filter; converted A/C system to the new requirements and replaced compressor. New ignition coil; plugs, wires, distributor and rotor; power steering hose and new fluid; brake hoses. Brakes and transmission and all other mechanicals checked. To my knowledge the car is in perfect mechanical and electrical condition; not one item on this car is not working. Except: according to the mechanic I need to track down a A/C vacuum canister. He could not find one. The A/C works, and I'm not exactly sure what function the vacuum canister has; nevertheless the mechanic told me to find one as he could not. I have my brother in law, a Ford parts guy, tracking down the can now. However, please bid on the car with the understanding you'll need to track down the vacuum canister. It's just two bolts on the firewall, if you can find one which isn't rusted out.
Just under 89,000 miles.
Check out eBay unsold item no. 382167313391; I have the identical car, with higher mileage. If you're looking at this car you already know what it's about, and almost certainly you know more than I do, so I'm not even going to bother with the puffery. I bought the car to cruise around US 84 and the beautiful winding roads of the Poconos. The best laid plans . . ..
The car is now at my house in Milford, PA. NY tags and just passed inspection. I live in Manhattan and I'm not taking the risk of driving in the city with this car, and there's no place to park legally in any event.
Here's what I would say are the only items to mention which are not perfect: which is there are some stone chips (very small, no more than 1 - 2 mm, but a lot of them) on the headlight covers. That's one. Two, the vinyl piece which runs across the front and back of the car, just behind the bumpers, I suppose to prevent debris from falling behind the bumpers, is dried out and very slightly warped and looks like a mass of spider webs. Third, some areas of the chrome trim are not in perfect condition. I have a nice walk-around video and you can definitely see where the car is not perfect. Four, the mechanic replaced the ignition coil but could not find (or did not look) for the condenser which reduces interference with the radio. **The sound you hear in the exterior walk around video is not the car but a loader which is working in the background.** The car sounds absolutely perfect; 100%. The interior is absolutely perfect, with just a bit of wear at the driver's side carpet where your heal rest below the accelerator.
Unfortunately the video showing the engine running also has the added noise of the loader working in the yard behind the car; sorry about that. I was actually surprised that as massive as the car is, the engine can move this car around better than I thought. Of course it drives and rides like a boat, which is the reason to get the car in the first place. The engine absolutely, positively sounds and runs 100%.
I have done my best to show the flaws in this vehicle so as not to mislead or disappoint. Regardless, it's a really, really beautiful car with no scratches or dents; runs, drive and stops perfectly; all electrical and electronics work; I've got a few dozen 8-track tapes in the trunk too, which is immaculately clean. I wish I could keep the car but it's just not practical.
