1954 Land Rover 86 Description:

Selling our Land Rover Series One 1954. 86” 2.0 Petrol. MOT and Tax exempt. Coming with its Heritage and Insurance valuation certificates. All paperwork is correct and in my name, British Log Book (V5c) and Heritage certificate matching the vehicle numbers. Vehicle is right hand drive. 7 seats

During our ownership vehicle has been mechanically restored retaining as many original parts as possible. Engine is an excellent starter, pulls well with no smoking, no nasty noises, fitted with new electronic ignition kit for reliability along with an electronic fuel pump that replicates the original on the outside of the unit. Usual Land Rover oil drips as to be expected but not too bad. 4 speed manual gearbox and four wheel drive works as it should, nice and quiet, no jumping out of gears. Brand new clutch kit fitted, complete braking system including drums, shoes and wheel cylinders, springs and dampers, both props, steering bars and all joints, new fuel tank and all fuel pipework, also a brand new wiring loom fitted last year.

Chassis, bulkhead and front panel are all rust free, all were blasted and then prepared correctly using anti phosphate primer before top coats, and chassis has received a light wax oil outer and heavier inside to preserve. Still the original chassis. Vehicle has had brand new canvas, hoop stick kit, seats and tyres fitted just before Christmas 2019.

Body is painted in Deep Bronze Green, with any small dents and dings from over the years left in giving it a new but used look and that totally adds to it rather than it being Concours. There is no filler in the panels hiding anything, giving it a great natural look.

Vehicle has been fitted with window locks and front door locks for a little more security, but these can be removed if you wanted to.

Overall it looks great and drives fabulous, it’s something you can enjoy for yourself or with the family. Draws a huge amount of attention to itself and always a talking point when it’s used. We have used it for vintage car meetings and local social runs only, never used off road since rebuild, and underneath is as clean as on top, the only reason for sale is a new summer toy coming.
