Originally owned by a dealer in Vicenza, Italy, this Defender spent its entire life in Northern Italy and the last 3 years being well maintained by myself in Sicily before importation to Washington this year. With only 183,500 kilometers (114,000 miles) on the clock and service records from new, the truck is an exceptionally preserved and with a long life ahead.

A recent paint correction highlights the quality of the gray exterior, while further work was completed on the doors to prevent any galvanic corrosion in the future. The contrasting roof and stunning NAS wheels, along with light guards front and rear, give this Defender a classic look prized by any Landie enthusiast. Other touches include the original, adjustable trailer hitch, a matching spare tire, and bumperettes. Underneath, the frame looks original and undisturbed, and has benefitted from years of rustproofing. Much of the underside's paint appears to be factory original, and beyond some light surface corrosion here and there it has done its job extremely well.

Inside, the truck's gray leather seats are in great shape, including four folding individual jumpseats along each side of the rear. A useful center console, period radio with USB connection, and flawless dash all feature in the spartan cabin, while a Land Rover rear mat protects the load floor. Complete with its tool roll, jack, and manuals, this truck has everything it came with from new. It also includes improvements with additional rear/front lighting, a 3 inch lift kit, roof rack, and retractable side ladder.

The 200L Diesel is a fantastic engine, robust and dependable, while fast enough to handle modern traffic and American highways. This one starts easily and is a very willing companion, complemented by a tight five speed manual and solid clutch recently restored with new hydraulics. Great brakes and a well-sorted suspension further enhance the drive, while the knobbly tires are ready for any terrain.
