Willys CJ3B jeep

1953 Jeep CJ3B Description:

This is a running driving Willys CJ3B with hard top by Koenig Iron Work Body Division out of Houston. Serial #453GB215140 so fairly early production. Motor #4J15455. I bought this from an elderly man here in Paonia, Co. just recently who had bought it from his cousin in Aug. of 1967. And that is the year on the title I just transferred to my name. I made a copy of that title and could send a picture of that. I had hopes of restoring this Willys however unforeseen expenses require me to sell the jeep.The engine runs great however I just took it for a drive and the brake master cylinder failed so would need replacing.There is literally no rust on the jeep. The tires are not original type but have great tread on them. The seats are in very good condition. The rear seat has a small tear on the top of the back seat and is not attached to the body. There is damage to both the rear fenders as well as the tailgate. The hood has some ripples in it and a body guy said he could fix it but they are available to buy. There are a couple of bullet holes under the drivers door. As shown in the pictures the front bumper has been welded on for a different tire mount and needs a fair amount of repair. The small steps behind the front fenders are also damaged as well as damage to the inner fender on the drivers side by the front shock. The front windshield is cracked along with cracks on the top windows. The jeep has been changed to a 12 volt system and I had the starter professionally rebuilt. Also as seen in pictures 2 additional lights have been added to the front. Whoever mounted the top did not do a real nice job attaching it to the front of the jeep however they did not weld to the windshield frame but rather ran screws into the frame so I believe it to be a fairly easy fix. The top is quite sturdy although the passenger side door is bulged out. Both latches work easy as well as the rear tail gate on the top. The rear tailgate on the jeep has been welded on and is damaged on the very top. As I said I only recently purchased the jeep so I don't know a lot about it but look at the pictures and bid if you like what you see and I would be able to send additional pictures. This Willys is far from being like brand new but certainly has great potential for a hard to find relic.
