1974 International Harvester Scout Scout II Description:

1974 International Scout II No Reserve!
EnginePrevious owner rebuilt a 392 and installed it in the truck, it looks good and runs great, always starts right up. Runs cool and no leaks. Has a Schneider off-road cam, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb with manual choke. Truck has headers installed and a recently installed dual exhaust system. New gas tank and sender, but after market gas gauge does not work, new identical fuel gauge included but not yet installed. Engine oil pressure gauge had a plastic line from block to gauge, and truck has good oil pressure, but I removed the plastic line due to how close it was to the headers. I ordered the brass oil line for the gauge, but have not yet installed it. Water temp gauge works. Amp-meter gauge works. Truck sounds great, and has lots of torque!
TransmissionI had the Torquflite 727 rebuilt last year, so it works fine, needs the carb kick-down linkage installed so you can adjust the shift points. Speedometer cable needs adapter for after market speedometer gauge which previous owner installed. Trans is oil tight and shifts good.
BodyBody has a few dings here and there, and has a dent in left lower rocker which could be pulled out, but is not very noticeable. Minor rust in lower left windshield pillar. Frame connector under front bumper is rusted, but could easily be cut out and a new piece of steel welded in. Rest of frame is looks good. Floor pans all look to have been replaced so are solid. Truck has no hardtop or doors, just the Baja door inserts and Bimini top. Seats need to be recovered, I just put some seat covers on them. I added the mirrors to the windshield frame. After market SS style grille which is probably not easy to find any more. After market front and rear welded pipe bumpers.
Running GearDana 44 axles are good, not sure the ratio. The 4x4 system is intact and the hubs lock, transfer case shifts, but I never really used the four wheel drive system, just two wheel high on roads and trails so I don't know how well it works. I replaced the front brake calipers, pads, and master cylinder last year and the brakes work okay but seem to lack bite, may need a power brake booster. After market black powder coated wheels which look good. Tires still have good tread. Truck has about a four inch body lift installed by a previous owner.
ElectricalI believe most of the lights work, and I did install new taillights. I don't think the wipers work, but I never drove it in the rain. No stereo installed, but the speakers are still installed in the back of the truck. Much of the truck appears to have been rewired.
This is a good running, solid truck, not a show vehicle, just a cool looking old Scout for having some fun with. Truck does turn some heads!
Truck is located near Ochopee, Florida, 34141, and has a Florida title in my name.
No reserve!
