1969 International Harvester Scout Description:

Up for sale is my 1969 International Scout 800A barn find. This truck is straight, has no rust, and is functional in all regards. It has a 304 V-8 with four wheel drive and an automatic transmission. The truck has 5,297 original miles according to the previous California title and attested to by the previous owners and the mechanics at IH Parts America. Whether this is true or not I can only speculate based upon the fact that the odometer works and the condition of the truck does not support the idea that it has more than 100k miles on it. Unfortunately in Nevada all vehicles of this age are exempt from odometer attestation and the DMV kept the California title when I registered it. I believe I am the third or fourth owner, the first being a little old lady that used the truck to go to and from her mailbox on her ranch. After she died the truck remained in the family barn for decades until the second owner, an engineer from Lake Tahoe, stumbled upon it. He bought the Scout to fix up with the intention of making it his wife's daily driver, but she decided that she would rather have a Subaru after he put a 2.5" lift, new tires, front disc brake conversion, automatic choke carburetor, and Pertronix ignition in the truck. All of this work was done by the professionals at IH Parts America out of Grass Valley California where he inquired about the condition of the truck and they were of the opinion that it was indeed a 5,000 mile Scout. I as the third owner bought it with the intention of driving it occasionally on the weekends because I have always loved these old Internationals. This I have done for the past year or so, but we have decided to move and the Scout doesn't fit into the new plan unfortunately. At some point someone attempted to repaint this truck and did a fairly poor job of it. This makes me think there was another owner between the original and the guy I bought it from, but it could have been a family member of the original owner. I just can't remember the story from the guy I bought it from exactly and I no longer have his phone number to ask. Other than the amateur paint and a couple of very minor bubbles on the passenger side rocker panel and the fact that the brake lights have an intermittent short the truck is almost perfect. If you are looking for a classic daily driver this Scout could drive coast to coast tomorrow with no issues. If you are looking for a base Scout for a project you're not going to find a straighter, more rust free truck in the country. Thanks for reading. Please visit http://youtu.be/iZC47qnRXdU for a walk around video of the truck. Forgive my brain fart in the video for saying that the engine is a 347 because it is a 304.
P.S. I am willing to work with out of state buyers who want to have the vehicle shipped, but only through Escrow.com whom I have worked with several times as a buyer of vehicles over the years.
