1991 Infiniti M30 Convertible Description:

The M30 was available as a coupé or a convertible (Nissan chassis code F31—shared the R31-generation Skyline platform) and was only sold in the U.S.Only6,339 M-30s were sold in 1991 (total,coupé and convertible).

The convertibles started life as Japanese-assembled coupés with significant extra structural bracing added in-factory by Nissan. They were then shipped to Automobile Specialty Company(ASC) in California. From 1991 through 1992 an estimated 2,500 M30 convertibles were built by ASC at their Rancho Dominguez, California assembly plant (numbers from ASC's Website-now defunct). Some people believe the convertible production number was higher than 2,500, but I know of no more reliable source of data. Coupés weighed a bit over 3,300 pounds. The official weight of the convertible is unknown but they are rated at a GVW of 4,391 lbs.

This car was assembled in Japan in June of 1991 and converted by ASC in July of 1991. It has just over 93,000 original miles (CarFax verified in 2017) and is unrestored but has had some work done including a repaint and new leather front seat covers approximately four years ago. Keep in mind this is a 30-year old car and will have the expected wear and tear--it is a driver and not a show-quality car--but it does get admiration at Cars & Coffee-type events.

The MSRP was approximately $31,385 (about $59,000 in 2020 dollars). There were no available factory options and official dealer options were few.

This car was originally sold in Florida in November of 1991. It was moved to Austin, Texas in 1996 and remained in Central Texas until I moved to Mesa, AZ in the fall of 2018. I enjoyed the drive from San Antonio to Mesa with no trouble. I have owned the car since September of '17 and have kept the car garaged--as did the previous owner. •Original owner’s manual and complete service manual (somewhat “worn”) and electronic copies of the complete service manuals (one for basic car, one convertible specific)

•Continental Contact P205x65 tires on original 15” aluminum wheels, new 4,000 miles ago

•Sale includes a color matched spare front bumper

•Extensive maintenance done since my purchase, including new brakes, struts, timing belt, water pump, camshaft seal, thermostat, radiator, hoses, valve cover and intake plenum gaskets replaced. Most recent oil & lube this month. Records available.

The car is a joy to drive, especially with the top down. There is practically no wind noise or the unpleasant wind buffeting that is typical in most convertibles.This car truly provides pleasant al-fresco motoring. All convertibles will leak, but in my near 1,000 mile drive from San Antonio to Mesa I drove through hours of torential rain and the cabin and trunk stayed dry.
