1990 Honda Civic Description:

1990 Honda Civic wagon as is runs stalls parts or restoration 171K miles good motor
1990 Honda Civic wagon for parts or restoration. 171,324 miles. My grandparents had one of these, it was the last car they bought and they drove it all over the country. I wanted this pretty bad and traded for it over two years ago, but we never could get it running right so away it must go! You will need to tow or trailer it home, and title work must be completed no later than April 5. If you are out of state, please contact the Athens County Title Office ((740) 592-3245) to verify what's required.

Biggest issue is that there is an electrical problem that causes it to stall. This problem is not rare for these cars but has exceeded the time and patience available to us and we've officially given up trying.

Noteworthy issues: needs a new front passenger axle; overdue for a timing belt change, and a valve adjustment; definitely also needs a tuneup; driver's seat very worn; windshield badly cracked; body rust; dents to front corner/side from deer damage long ago; heater cable is disconnected and maybe broken. The driver's window is off the track. The crank is off in the photos - it's present, my guy just took it off so he wouldn't forget and roll the window down cause he especially dislikes working on them. There might be more issues, but it's everything either of us could remember and should be all the major stuff. Obviously, there's also some cosmetic stuff that is typical for a car this age.

The good news: motor, transmission, clutch, and compression are strong; they're in great shape and unmodified. No tuner has ever touched this car (no judgement, just stating a fact here. I'd welcome a tuner buying it, actually, because I know they will lavish TLC on this thing.) We have replaced: the battery, alternator, ignition switch, various front end components, and exhaust, all with new parts. The front struts (and springs) have been replaced (with used,) as has the rear bumper reinforcement (we mailordered a used one from CO, treated what little rust it had, painted it, and installed it with the original plastic bumper cover.) He also treated/sanded/painted areas of the body to arrest the rust until proper body work could be done. Brakes work, lights work, tires are decent. And I will add that after sitting all winter, he charged the battery, and it started right up. There's a box of various little parts in there, and two tires in the back - we're not sure which car they go to, they might have come from a Geo Metro project we had, but they don't go to the cars we're keeping, so you're welcome to them. IMO it's worth the opening bid for the parts alone. I did consider just parting it out, I'd probably get more out of it, but the thought of shipping auto glass put me off.
