1964 GMC Other Description:

1964 GMC 1000 series short box step side pickup truck. Condition is Used. Local pickup only. A lovingly restored truck with some unique features. Original Oakland, CA built Short box step-side with the 305E V-6, which is story in it's own right. The previous owner went all the way through this truck, including rebuilding the original engine and replacing the three speed tranny with a NOS SM420 4 speed. He also replaced the steering column and removed the three on the tree linkage. It has a new Holly carb and pointless ignition upgrade and the truck runs and drives great. It has power brakes that work decent and the front end has been gone through, as well. Newer Goodyear radial tires make driving a pleasure and this is a no excuses, get in and go turnkey vehicle. That being said, there are a couple of bobbles and blisters in the paint and body work that are not apparent in the photos. Nothing major mind you, but scrutiny of the lower doors shows an application of bondo was made and some minor blemishes can be seen. Other than that it presents very well, the bed wood is new or maybe original, but like new, I can't remember what the guy told me. He made a custom tonneau cover frame for the box and installed stainless steel chains and tailgate protector, as well as exhaust. It has a new wiring harness, alternator, Optima battery, tinted windshield and a custom leather covered seat, the bumpers, grill and wheels have been powder coated, suffice to say, this baby has seen some love. It was love at first sight for me, too, about a year ago, but health issues have got the best of me, so I'm letting it go for someone else to enjoy. Also included with this deal are a plethora of additional parts, including the original transmission, intake, carb, air cleaner, extra radiator and alternator (brand new in the boxes) and a set of rally wheels and tires not pictured.
