1970 GMC Pickup Truck
Standard Cab Pickup
BODY TYPE
1970 GMC 2500 Series Basic Description:
This old pickup is a great candidate for a complete restoration. It has been sitting for a few years. I happen to love this era GM. I only have minimal knowledge of this truck. It had a blown tire so I replaced that. It didn't have a key so I replaced the ignition. I don't have a key to the door. The drivers mirror has a couple of bolts pulled through. The transmission was 2 quarts low, so I added fluid and now it shifts solidly into first and reverse. (I did not take it for a drive) I drained the fuel tank and added fresh fuel, it started but wouldn't stay running, I replaced the paper filter at the carb inlet and now it starts and stays running, but the fuel level is too high. So I am assuming that the float is saturated causing the high fuel level. I did not take it for a test drive as I was afraid it might flood out.The motor sounds good. I am selling this as is/ no guarantee for either emission or drivability - strictly as a rebuild project, which I think it would be an excellent candidate for. Since it is a Colorado vehicle it doesn't have a lot of rust. This truck will be for sale locally also. I will be glad to try to answer any questions you might have. Thanks.
