1964 Ford Falcon Description:

1964 FORD FALCON FOR SALE
This is a great opportunity to purchase and enjoy one of the cleanest examples you’re likely to come across in this price range.

This second generation Ford Falcon is an absolute beauty. The new look was more squared-off, more modern, as Ford pursued the youth market in 64.

Here’s a rundown and some information on the vehicle offered for sale:

Exterior: White roof and flash over red body. The paint work and paint finish are really acceptable and to a high quality on this car. Shut lines panel gaps and body work all sharp and straight.

The body is rust free and shows no sign of previous damage.

All glass seals, window scraper seals, door shut seal, trunk seals were all replaced in time of restoration and they are in very good condition, nothing dried out or hard.

All stainless and chrome have been re-polished, re-chromed or replaced at time of restoration and it’s in really good condition.

Glass has a very mild tint to help with the California sun. The windshield also benefits from the top tint to safe the sun glare.

The underbody on the car is exceptionally clean with no corrosion or rust. All spot welds are visible in cross members, chassis/frame rails, etc… No undercoat hiding any problematic areas, this is a true rust free car.

Original factory paint on floor is clean and dry.

Interior: Very nice original themed red interior.

Carpet, tailored over mats, door cards and armrests, headliner have all been replaced at the time of restoration and in very very good condition.

The car also benefits from lap belts, front and rear, for family safety and enjoyment.

Two keys work complete car, one for ignition and one for doors and trunk. Four keys in total (2 spares) are included.

Wheels and tires: Original steel wheels in factory colors, four-lug hubs with 13-in steel wheels, with original hub caps with tires that show the 1inch white wall, which works great with the 60s theme car (radial tires in great condition).

Spare tire is included with the car with the plaid spare wheel cover along with the plaid trunk mat. Lug nut wheel brace and a trunk with spare parts too… hub cabs bibs and bobs with the car.

Running Gear: It’s all original and correct and has been perfectly maintained over the years. The car stops and drives fine, it doesn’t pull under braking. At time of my purchase, I was told the car had been restored about 4-5 years ago.

I bought the car to do a V8/race car conversion but I’ve had a change of heart and going in a different direction. I’ve only owned the car a month.
Transmission: Shifts through all gears as expected, up and down gear box no problem, however it does have whinning noise under deceleration. It probably could use a rebuild at some point but it’s working fine at the moment.

The whine could also be coming from 3rd member (rear end), it’s hard to say, it does drive OK on the street but I’ve not been far so no guarantees. I would say drive and enjoy the car as is but assume at some point it’ll need a rear end or transmission rebuild.

Engine: Original Ford 6 cylinder (170) I think they make about 90hp. It hums along quite nicely in the Falcon. Manual choke has been fitted, the rest is all as Ford intended. Again, at time of purchase I was told, it’s been recently serviced. I removed distributor cap, points, rotor arm, are all new as well as the spark plugs, motor mounts, fuel pump, etc… Again, I was told the motor had been rebuilt at time of restoration. It looks, sounds and drives great but no guarantees as the car is over 50 years old. I do have lots of previous invoices and proof of work carried out as a great history file on the car, over $10K spent on the car

This car is in very good condition. California car with clear CA title and current registration, ready to be enjoyed. And an original black plate car!!!

Everything works as you would expect on a car of this condition including the horn, lights, and windshield wipers, the dome light, the washer jets, etc…
It’s ready for export also. I will personally help with delivery and shipping arrangements to your door if required.

I purchased this car to build a historic race track car, having taken delivery of the car from a friend, it didn’t take me long to work out it’s way too nice of a car to turn into a race car. I’ve worked in the vehicle restoration industry for 30 years and the car really needs to be enjoyed as is. It’s a really honest well presented car that the previous keeper spent lots of money on. I’m just looking to return my money to purchase another car to continue with the race car build and let somebody enjoy this classic Ford. As I said, the car starts, runs and drives very good, everything opens and closes and works as it did in 64, however it has a winning rear end or transmission that will need addressing at some point soon. Parts are readily available on eBay, transmission gear rebuilt kits for less that $500 and a rear end rebuild on this is also below the $500 figure.

The car has been used in many magazine shoots, and was previously owned by a 50s inspired pin up girl.
