I’m often asked where we find these nice old rigs. A good friend of mine cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W halls and the back alleys of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a car door a mile away… He even notices when a vehicle is driving down the road with a turn signal on just a little too long and positively twitches with glee when passing a car or truck with metal bumpers. This rig sold new on January 18, 1965 at Teague Motor company in Walla Walla, Washington to Richard B Lake of Seattle. The maintenance book and original owner's manual we received shows Mr. lake drove the truck through at least 2003. That’s 48 years with the same owner (and he kept meticulous records, every jot and tittle)!

CONDITION:
Several weeks ago a call came in from a Seattle film production company. They’d used this pickup in a recent video and wanted it off the books and out of their storage area. I quickly obliged, loaded it on one of our trailers and brought it to my Auburn, WA warehouse (if you follow our Ebay auctions you know I’ve got a real soft spot for old pickups). Truly, it’s a nice, vintage rig! I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here is a list of the good and also small things possibly needing attention:

“Derelicting” an old vehicle is becoming quite common. I think it started with the first gen VW Beetle crowd and has now spread to many other older vehicle types. Basically, the entire body was scuffed and clear coated to seal in the existing flaws and keep it looking this vintage for many more years. Very, Very cool! Stand 20 feet away, and you’d think it’s just another ol’ truck, but come closer and it’s amazing how shiny it is!

A new carburetor was recently added to the stock 352 engine and it's topped with the original old-school oil bath air cleaner. My tech installed a new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and plug wires. It seems the ignition timing has been an issue (seeing as how he no longer owns a timing light), so I’d suggest converting over to a modern electronic ignition, thus doing away with difficult-to-adjust distributor points, to make the rig run correctly before driving it much.

The granny-gear low four-speed manual transmission shifts well and has a strong clutch. No power steering here, but I haven’t missed it! The brakes are strong, even a bit touchy, and tend to pull just a bit.The old-school steel wheels add to the vintage look and are straight and true. The tires are nearly new and have excellent tread.

Take another look at the interior pics. Everything's nearly stock with the exception of the bench seat, which has been reupholstered and is in perfect condition. The seat springs are also in excellent shape, so you’ll be able to sit comfortably for hours. The driver’s door still has the zippered storage pocket. I’m impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They seem as clear and bright to me as the day this rig left the San Jose assembly line back in early 1965 heading to our Seattle District Sales area. No doubt; this F100 Custom will be fun to drive and has years of service yet to render!

The entire purchase price is due by cash (in-person only), a wire transfer or other certified funds within seven days of the auction closing. I can accept credit/debit cards but will need to first send an invoice from our card processor and will add the 3.25% fee charged by them to the balance. Please remember you are bidding to buy, and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the truck later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have the F-100 shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transportcompanies to choose from. While delivery of the truck and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER, I ship vehicles regularly and have access to the nationwide Central Dispatch system. I can check to see what typical delivery costs have been to your area recently and then post a transport offer for the truck at a fair price. We usually then have a shipper lined up within a few days. The buyer pays the transporter COD when they arrive with the vehicle. No upfront deposit or other hassles.

Thetruck can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day.
