1985 Ford Crown Victoria Description:

1985 Ford crown Wagon is very nice driving car. I use it for local events, but I did drive it from South Carolina to Ohio in hot summer with a/c on with no issues. It always starts and runs great. it uses about a quart of oil in 3,000miles. I check oil in it anytime i use it and just before I change it. It is about a quart low at that point and I don't add any oil between changes. I worked on these cars at the dealer when new and they had no problems. they have never been issues with the drive trains in these car unless they were abused. This car was bought in 1990 after I believe it was a fleet car use. It had 60,300 miles and was purchased at Mc Cafferty Ford in Langhorne PA. by second owner. most cars optioned like this were used for fleet. I bought this car in 2015 from the second owners daughter who had driven it for several years after her father passed away. I have a lot of records from second owner with this car.
It has Manual A/C and heat, stereo radio, cruise control, tinted glass all around. it is not a high option car which leads me to again think it was fleet order. All windows, dual action tail gate, manual seats work. tailgate window is electric but all others are manual. inside of car is all original upholstery and is like new. Very slight wear on driver seat area.(wrinkle) in fabric, but remaining seat areas, headliner, door panels are nice. I have keep it in garage since I owned it. It has surface rust on floor pans but NO HOLES anywhere. inner rear fender areas in rear are not rusted. Frame is perfect and rings when it is hit (meaning there is no rust or debris inside.) I don't see any signs of any accident damage to frame or floors. I did repaint the car with PPG base clear factory Wimbledon white and added the dark color charcoal (Lincoln color) on bottom of car to highlight it a little. I also added a set of wheels from a 88 crown along with gauges. that's it for addons. I did make sure it had a new timing chain. I suspected it had original plastic timing chain in it, which it did. No plastic had come off cam gear, so I know there is no debris that got into oil pick up screen. oil pressure is 20 PSI in 100 deg weather hot idle, a/c on. I did a lot of preventive repairs as I am a mechanic and don't like to fix cars when they break while traveling. Here is the list of what I have done to it.
Double roller Cloyes timing chain setwater pump, heater corecoolant flush and rad cap was done at water pump replacevalve cover gasketstune up with Motorcraft Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and fuel filternew beltspower steering pumpfront calipers with steel pistons (police option) and pads. rear brakes good.alternator and voltage regulator are newThrottle body reseal with TP sensornew tires rear, good tires frontTrans service, filter and all fluid to Mercone 5The front end of this car is tight and alignment was done so it is straight driving. no pulls, shakes rattles. trans shifting is perfect.it is a joy to drive on trips.the down side is the CFI 302 motors (80-85) where not considered fast. they move the car good, but it won't match a port fuel injection car for power. fuel injection was change to SFI 302 (86-90). camshafts are better in those cars for power. CFI in these cars ran for ever. the 302 motors are known to have piston slap concerns in years 81-89. this has some piston noise at idle. I have had Lincolns with piston noise and driven them 100,000 k with no problems. bid with confidence that this is a great car and will not disappoint. I have more pictures than what you see of the car.
No bidders with less than 5 history, unless you talk to me first. no warrants implied or written about this used car. you buy it you own it.no consigment calls or offers. I don't need my car consigned so you can double the price. so don't call or e mail etc. I am asking a fair price for car, not gouging people. read specifics please before biding. none refundable deposit required. inspect before buying. I have a good E bay history because I don't hide or lie about the cars I sell. I pay rapidly when I bu, which I expect from bidders on this sale. buyer responsible for pick up and delivery. I know it sounds harsh, but I have dealt with people all over the country and world.
