1971 Ford F-100 Ranger XLT Description:

1971 Ford F-100 Ranger

T he dash is great as the truck was kept in a garage and then in a shed. It is back in a garage. What you see is what you get. With just over 38,000 miles, this is in great condition. This truck was owned by an elderly couple who ultimately went into a nursing home. My uncle started it for them every week and after a few years, they gave it to him. He kept it almost 15 years but only drove into town as it did not have 4-wheel drive. He replaced the radiator as it had a small leak and put 2 tires on it about 1.5 years ago. The paint looks really good considering how old it is.

I purchased it, put 2 new tires on it and drove it home.I had a local mechanic go through it and he replaced the belts, front shocks, the master cylinder (it was rusty), vacuum lines, and the carburetor (but I have the original). It has a 360 (I did not clean it up), power steering, power brakes. Everything seems to work, even the windshield washer. I put some cardboard under the engine to see if it is leaking and it is still clean. I start it and drive it weekly and it starts easily. The transmission shifts well. The power brakes take some time to get used to - I have skidded by hitting them too hard. (I drive an old 48 pickup, so used to pushing hard).

It had a few small rock dings that had a small amount of rust on them. I cleaned them up and sprayed a little paint on them (see pics) to keep them from rusting. There was one small dent (see photo) under the back bumper. The seat is worn but has the cover you see. I drove it to town a week or so ago and found a scratch on the passenger side of the bed when I returned which was not there (next to last picture). There is a place on the hood on last picture where someone must have had some damage and they painted it (last picture) There are small dings in the side chrome (one picture will show those). There was some surface rust in front of bed but I killed it and sprayed a little paint over it to keep it. I have done my best to point out what is wrong - the rest is really good.

I love the truck but have too many and the spouse said something had to go. I put no reserve on it. I would have put a buy it now price but could not find a way with the system it has. It has a clear title and I can work with you if you are having it shipped

I plan to list it locally so I will remove it if it sells locally.
